Artist Bio
Born and raised in Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, James Dupré grew up listening to his parent’s favorite artists, including Randy Travis, The Eagles, James Taylor, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr., and James' all-time favorite, Vince Gill. He always loved to sing, but was reserved until college, when he joined a band and started playing in front of larger crowds. After college, James kept his music ambitions while following his father’s footsteps to become an EMT Paramedic with Acadian Ambulance Service.
James always dreamed of becoming a musician. One night in early 2007 he began posting songs on his YouTube channel. He soon became a household name – all around the world. From Finland to the Philippines, across the US and Canada, each video James posted gathered thousands of comments and led to a following of loving, loyal fans worldwide. It also led to him being discovered by Ellen DeGeneres, who invited James to be a musical guest on her show.
Humbled, inspired, and committed to turning his dream into reality, James began working with manager David Batten, who helped him land shows in venues and festivals across the Southern US, and eventually parts of Canada and Europe. The two soon connected with world-renowned producers Kyle Lehning and Jerry Douglas to release debut album, “It’s All Happening” in 2010 - available through CD Baby and iTunes.
Warner Bros. Records has officially announced the signing of James to his first record deal. The announcement comes after years of hard work, tremendous support from family, friends and fans, and the guidance of the incredible people at Warner Bros. Records. Stay tuned for more!
