Five Times August began in 2001 by singer/songwriter Bradley James Skistimas at 18 years old. In the last decade James has established himself as one of the industries most sincere "indie" acts today. Partnered with his manager/wife Kelly, the two have (by themselves) placed the music in over 80 TV shows, films, and commercials. The 2007 release "The Independent" was the first album in history to get national distribution in Walmart stores without any record label attached.
