Throwing Wrenches is a Washington DC area alternative / pop punk band. Influenced by greats such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine as well as contemporary artists like Stone Temple Pilots, Throwing Wrenches mixes the energy of pop punk with modern day rock into their original music.
In their debut self-titled album, Throwing Wrenches exemplifies their skills through sleek, surging guitar work backed by tightly weaved bass and drums. Completing the experience are the thoughtful lyrics delivered by a deep soul trapped in a teenage body. For this freshman release, the band chose to recognize two of the profound influences on their young careers in the only way they know -- through crisp, inspiring interpretations of these legendary works.
During live sets the foursome, all under the age of 16, perform these as well as other crowd favorites, typically with a dose of their own personality thrown in for flavor. Throwing Wrenches have entertained thousands and played many of DC’s greatest venues including the Hard Rock Cafe Washington DC, 9:30 Club, the Fillmore Silver Spring, Jammin' Java and more.
