Artist Bio

Vocal powerhouse AMBER DIRKS was born in Holland and raised in New York City. While still in her teens, AMBER decided to leave the bright lights of New York City and head out west in search of fame and fortune. It wasn’t long before her strong, “rip the roof off” vocal style whisked her through the door and the professional singing career she had always dreamed of had finally begun.

AMBER’S cross-country gamble paid off in the studios of Phoenix and Los Angeles, where she quickly began working for several hit-making producers including Richard Shear (Stephanie Mills, Brenda K. Starr) and Nick Trevesick (5 Star). Her considerable vocal skills impressed producers and remix masters R.K. Jackson (CeCe Peniston) and Marcus Schulz, who eagerly recruited AMBER as the vocalist on the Plastik Records release "Do You Want Me". AMBER was also a featured vocalist on Motown recording artist Eddie Minninfield's Christmas album.

AMBER has provided backing vocals for an array of notable entertainers including Roberta Flack, KC & The Sunshine Band and A&M recording artist Malaika. As a Guest Vocalist of the classic group Sister Sledge, AMBER has traveled extensively in the US and abroad, performing in front of tens of thousands of adoring fans. With Sister Sledge, AMBER has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some of the music industry’s premiere recording artists including Gladys Knight, Michael Bublé, Destiny’s Child, Macy Gray, Martha Wash (C&C Music Factory & The Weather Girls) and Chic.

AMBER'S musical experience also includes a lengthy tour of South America with Latin recording sensation Raphael. With Sister Sledge, AMBER appeared at the "Disco Fever to Race to Erase MS 2006" and along with superstar Natalie Cole, helped kick off the Grand Finale, "Lean On Me". After hearing AMBER lead off the second verse, industry legend David Foster singled out AMBER'S voice for praise.

AMBER has also appeared on BET, VH1 and has sung the National Anthem at numerous major televised sporting events. Her exotic blend of talent and beauty won her a spot as a former Miss Black USA finalist representing the state of Arizona (Amber was the first in history to represent Arizona in the Miss Black USA Pageant).

Some of AMBER’S earliest influences growing up were the soulful stylings of strong female artists including Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Toni Braxton, Etta James, Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin.

AMBER is currently a recording Artist under several renowned labels such as ; Sony Orchard. Fevor Records, World Sound. Her talent is constantly being requested , not only for her versatile singing, her song writing and vocal arrangement skills. Along with recording on multiple projects, numerous songs have been licensed and have appeared on numerous shows, films and played in major clothing retailers such as; Victoria Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21, etc. With over 20 song placements AMBER has become very popular with song licensing services. A few of the songs that you may have heard; " Feel The Love", "You're The One", "Don't Stop", "Let's Talk About The Future ", just to name a few.

AMBER has recorded with soul group KopaTechnic. Combine a platinum/BMI award-winning dance music producer/remixer/musician, an internationally praised recording artist, and an innovative lyricist/rapper and the result is KopaTechnic. Consisting of members Amber Dirks, R.K. Jackson, and Jimmie Alston, Kopatechnic has begun its assault on dance floors in Europe and America with their infectious hit “When I Hit The Club”. With a #2 single "Wonder Woman" in the UK . Their latest release is "Giving Him" which is a part of "Always- The Original Soundtrack". This eclectic group is a World Wide Hit on international dance floors.

AMBER is also a part of Power 2 Move. Which consist of Themi Charalambous and vocal powerhouse AMBER, who have brought their unique talents and extensive musical experience to the table to form the hottest, fastest rising group in the dance music industry today. Notable songs but not limited to; "All Through The Night", "Without You" , "Don't Stop", just to name a few. With over 20 songs their songs have also been in the song licensing view, had multiple songs appear on Nanny 911, Animal Planet and various Clothing Retailers not only do they have an infectious vibe, you'll find music to soothe your dancing soul.
