Artist Bio
Discovered by Rapper Heavy D, R&B crooners, Intro - originally consisting of Kenny Greene, Jeff Sanders, and Clinton “Buddy” Wike, - is undeniably one of the hottest groups of the ’90s. The legendary trio is known for hits like “Come Inside,” “Let Me Be The One,” and a remake of Stevie Wonder’s classic single “Ribbon In The Sky,” which climbed to the top of the charts. Intro released their self-titled debut album, Intro, in 1993. Even with a commercial hit to back them, many artists in the 1990s were unsure of their success in the music industry. This was not the case for Intro. The R&B superstars released several successful hits and reach platinum status. A very controversial song at the time, “Come Inside,” went on to be their most successful song, reaching #9 on the Billboard R&B charts and #33 on the Hot 100.
While mastering chart-topping hit themselves, the group also crafted hits for a variety of R&B and Pop talents such as Mary J. Blige, Soul 4 Real, Will Smith, 98 Degrees, Tyrese, and more. Intro proved their talent after being recognized by ASCAP for R&B Songwriters of The Year.
Faced with the tragic loss of Kenny Greene, group member and friend, Jeff and Buddy were not sure if they could continue in the music industry. After a period of uncertainty with music, the remaining members made an executive decision along with management to continue recording and touring. Intro has been hard at work in the studio cranking out new hits for their fans ever since. They continue to tour across the United States and Internationally maintaining an amazingly loyal fan base. Touring in over 15 Countries - most recently England and St. Petersburg, Russia - they played to a crowd of over 300,000. Each member is grateful for all the opportunities they have been given both individually and as a unit. Fans of Intro can rest assured that the group will continue making great R&B music - Straight from their heart!
