Artist Bio

Based in Scotland, Sonia D is an Irish singer-songwriter whose fingerstyle guitar and melodies are rooted in Folk and Indie Folk music.

Her acoustic-based music features thought-provoking lyrics and emotive vocals, woven with hints of piano and strings. Sonia’s haunting tones and honest expression reflect her life experiences, offering listeners both escapism and emotional resonance.

After a challenging 2024, including two spinal procedures and a diagnosis of Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS), Sonia is returning to music gently with a focus on connection, creativity and finding new ways to share her songs.

Since starting her musical journey in 2018, she’s built a lovely Sunny D community on Patreon and Bandcamp. Thanks to their encouragement, Sonia is finding her way back to performing, beginning with online Stageit shows that bring together music, storytelling and her beloved dog Bowie 🐾
