About Me
If your dentist advises you to have a tooth pulled or prescribes antibiotics, follow his advice. Oral infections can spread quickly to other parts of your body if they are not dealt with immediately. Make sure to follow whatever your dentist tells you when taking care of a dental issue.
Sometimes eating certain foods is helpful after you've had a meal. In fact, eating an apple after a meal can help loosen debris from the teeth and gums and get your mouth feeling fresh again. It also can remove built up gunk from the surfaces of your teeth, plus it's low in sugar.
Drink soda and non-water beverages with a straw. That helps them to avoid contact with your teeth. That will help keep your teeth clean, but it will also keep them white. If you cannot use a straw, make sure you brush as soon as you can after drinking those things.
To ensure that your teeth remain their healthiest, be sure to consume plenty of calcium. Foods that contain high levels of calcium, such as cheese, milk and yogurt, help strengthen your teeth. Take a calcium supplement if you do not like these foods or are lactose intolerant.
Opt for a mouthwash that contains fluoride. A fluoride mouthwash bathes your teeth in fluoride helping to prevent cavities. When you use the mouthwash swish it around your mouth allowing the mouthwash to flow between each tooth. Continue this swishing motion for at least a minute for best results.
