Elaine Blair is an enthusiastic book reader who calls herself—”a book nerd”. Elaine is a retired teacher and loves to read books and travel. Her inspiration to write “Escape” was her trip to Germany with her husband in the fall of 2019. The history of Dresden and the details of how it was reduced to rubble awestruck her. Dresden, the fairy tale city, inspired her to pen down this best historical fiction book. She was astounded that 80% of the town was destroyed in 24 hours by British and American aircraft. Reading and finding out the interesting facts about Auschwitz gave her a clearer picture.
