JULEAH SCOTT is a fresh voice in the world of Pop. From an early age, JULEAH was surrounded by music; from her father playing alongside many of Chicago’s great blues musicians to stories from her grandmothers (a trained professional opera singer and a Broadway performer), music was in JULEAH’s blood. Her early outside musical influences initially came from her father’s love of George Strait and her mother's love of the Beatles. Later artists like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey “challenged me to be the best singer I could be” says JULEAH. Tracy Bonham and Alanis Morissette motivated JULEAH to start writing her own songs, while Shania Twain was in an overall inspiration: “Not only did she come out with killer albums, but she was able to take it live. It pushed me to continue performing as much as possible and to have a presence on every stage.”
Her first musical performances were at age two in front of her church congregation and by her teens, she and her sister were performing over 100 gigs a year, while being managed by her father. A self-taught piano player from an earlier age, JULEAH started writing songs at 15 and taught herself to play guitar at 17. Ultimately, JULEAH found herself in a Chicago area cover band performing all types of music. She played to coffee house crowds of ten to audiences of 10,000 at festivals and events, before she decided to pack her bags and head to Nashville to focus more on solo performances and songwriting. Songs like “I Don't Need A Man,” “Doin' What I Need to Do,” “Get Carried Away,” and “Rock The Twang” caught the ear of CTK Management--via her demo--and was quickly signed to their management company. She continues to develop her songwriting and unique sound and is looking forward to taking on Nashville.
