Born and raised in East Texas, CVR Recording Artist Mark Cooke grew up singing and writing songs of all types, though country music is what he always found comfort in. Through the grace of God, Mark Cooke has continued to pursue his childhood dream to become a country singer.
After graduating high school in 1993, Mark decided to put his dream of a music career on hold and he joined the U.S. Navy. His dedication to the Navy made him a much stronger person mentally and spiritually and throughout all of the changes happening in his life, Mark felt that it was time to finally be true to himself and focus on his music. While sailing around the world, Mark worked diligently to enhance his vocal and writing skills. In 1997, Mark completed his duty with the U.S. Navy and officially began working on his music career.
Cooke is enjoying success with his current Billboard Indicator Top 50 single, “Stay With Me Tonight.” The passionate ballad written by Kris Bergsnes, Pete Sallis, Mark Carson, and produced by Nashville industry pros, J. Gary Smith and John Smith continues to garner solid reviews.
Born and bred in the Lone Star state, the singer/songwriter knew early on that he wanted to be part of Texas’ rich musical heritage. Following a stint in the United States Navy, Cooke gained musical momentum as a member of the popular, perennial Texas combo, Cooke County Line Band. The band toured regularly opening for George Jones, Miranda Lambert, Tracy Lawrence, John Rich, Little Jimmy Dickens, Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Charlie Robison, David Allen Coe and others. He signed with CVR in 2010, adopted “Nashville or Nothin” as his mantra, and got down to the business of making hit records in Music City.
