Live show at the University of Miami featuring:
Parker Smith - guitar
Ryan Gregg - keys
Taylor Byrd - bass
Brian Lange - drums
Parker Smith and the Bandwith landed their first gig in September 2010 and fans immediately took a liking to their unique sound. Musical influences range from Taj Mahal to Talking Heads, self-described “acoustic roots with electric sprouts.” However, the band members attempt to steer clear of staying in one genre. They stress their passion about playing ‘real music with real instruments’ (no computers allowed on stage), and fans appreciate the originality and roots-oriented sound. As one fan put it, “The groovy songs get your feet thumping and the slower songs reel you in giving you a chance to feel something, more than what can be said of many local acts these days.” Storytelling lyrics and wise tales accompany timeless melodies and unique arrangements with their 4-piece instrumentation of guitar, keys, bass and drums.
Parker embarked on his “Solo Flight” tour in 2012 through North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. He continues to play solo acoustic shows around the east coast, mixing in carefully chosen covers with his growing list of originals. A compilation of recordings from the tour will be released in 2013.
The band released their first album “Garden Hills” in June 2011, and continues to play around the Southeast as well. They look forward to their upcoming shows as well as continuing to expand their fan base throughout the East Coast.
"Parker Smith & the Bandwith do woodsy, earnest singer-songwriter fare cautiously infused with soul, bluegrass, gospel and Southern rock elements."
- Stomp And Stammer
"Parker Smith and the Bandwith are a great young band out of Atlanta. They’re a southern rock band in an essential way, though their songs run the gamut from sprawling, fast-paced jams to tight, quiet ballads. Smith’s lyrics, backed by tight guitar and mandolin playing, are poignant and full of yearning: for a cleaner life, a distant woman, fresh ground. It’s honest, heartfelt music that—without taking itself too seriously—contemplates the space between who we are and what we want to be."
