Artificial neural networks (ANN) are a type of deep learning algorithm used in computer science to solve certain tasks that computers may be unable to do on their own. In fact, most computers today already contain an artificial neural network or two, if not many, pre-installed within the operating system. They can be used for tasks such as speech recognition, natural language processing, speech synthesis, image recognition, task scheduling, and so on. However, researchers are now trying to apply them to other areas.
