About Me
The Lakota Language Consortium (LLC), based in Bloomington, Indiana, and South Dakota is a Lakota-led not-for-profit. Established in 2004, the shared vision of LLC’s linguists, language advocates, Lakota tribal leaders, and professional educators is initiating long-term efforts to revitalize the Lakota language. It published the acclaimed New Lakota Dictionary in 2008 and maintains an online language forum and community. Wilhelm Meya leads The Lakota Language Consortium as Executive Director.
