Artist Bio
Juxtaposing a voice reminiscent of a young Bryan Adams or Rod Stewart with a writing style heavily influenced by artists such as John Mayer and One Republic, Warren Attwell is a pop-rock singer-songwriter with substance. With his latest bubble-pop single ‘Its Not Love’ receiving significant airplay throughout his native Ireland and a fierce touring schedule planned throughout Europe and North America, this is one grassroots artist who could be making significant waves before the decade is over.
‘Outstanding debut EP…
His heartfelt live shows are not to be missed…’
Colin Magee, Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival
Growing up in the quaint Irish village of Richhill, Warren’s passion for music was first nurtured whilst leading the praise team in his local parish church. Quickly dissatisfied with writing contemporary worship music however, he formed alternative rock band Attellia during his time studying at Portadown College, providing not only an outlet for his teenage angst and spiritual frustrations but also a new avenue to develop his skills as both a writer and performer. Parting ways with the band and taking a much needed break from his work as a worship leader, in late 2007 he headed to Queens University Belfast to hone his production skills, eventually finding his way back to his first musical love; pop, releasing his debut EP ‘Chapter One’ in September 2008.
‘His music is absolutely incredible…’
Ross Ocego, Radio Warrington
In 2009 Attwell joined forces with Bauer Radio’s Cash for Kids to release ‘This Christmas Time’, a charity single in aid of their annual Christmas appeal and after graduating in 2010, he started work on his second EP ‘Fallen From Grace’; a collection of songs exploring love, loss, imperfection and redemption. Released in 2012 and combining a new found honesty in his writing with an invigorating and passionate live performance style, Fallen From Grace helped to propel him to the forefront of Ireland’s bustling music scene, leading to a number of performances at the prestigious Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival and numerous touring visits to the United States and China. In March 2015 he was selected by Panarts and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to showcase his music in Nashville, Tennessee; a trip which saw him perform on the Music City Roots show, entertain the masses downtown at the first ever Music City Irish Fest and perform to a full house at the world renowned Bluebird Cafe.
‘Most excellent…
Loving the soundscapes…
Absolutely fantastic stuff…’
Jackson Cooper, Riviera FM
Spending the first half of 2016 working alongside acclaimed record producer Darren Schneider (Deep Purple, Snow Patrol, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys) completing his latest record, ‘Holding On For Something’ was released in July 2016 demonstrating once again Attwell's innate ability to deliver hook driven melodic pop with an honesty and depth unrivalled in today’s pop music. Dealing openly with issues such as mental health, the effects of suicide and his own spiritual development he manages to deliver an endearing and engrossing observation of the human condition with relative ease.
Having toured the UK, Ireland and United States throughout 2017, this year sees the launch of his latest project 'The Farm House Sessions' in preparation for his debut album release in Summer 2019. The project will see Attwell releasing 50 new songs, written since the release of Holding On For Something, in a live jam band format, before deciding the 10 songs that will make the final cut for the new album.
